This service aims to provide accessible, culturally sensitive, trauma informed and supportive therapeutic interventions to those experiencing emotional or mental distress. The service is designed to support a broad range of clients, with particular focus on marginalized and underserved groups within the Borough of Islington.
Our project offers a 20-week course of 50-minute talking therapy sessions, where clients are invited to reflect on their memories and emotions, and to develop personal toolkits with which to navigate and manage their issues. We focus on reaching, engaging and supporting residents from diverse backgrounds, who may struggle to access counselling for various reasons such as cost barriers or a history of discrimination to name but a few.
The waiting list opens a couple of times a year and we accept self-referrals only. These should be directed to the service coordinator bruno.conde@islingtonmind.org.uk or via our head office by calling 020 3301 9850.
A small donation is suggested for this service.
