Hand in Hand Peer Travel Buddy
A Volunteer Peer Buddy scheme matching volunteers with lived experience of mental health problems to accompany Islington residents to destinations in the borough
A collaboration of Islington Mind, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and the SidebySide Network
If you need support in accessing appointments or activities – you will be matched with a Peer Travel Buddy who will accompany you and offer support. Peer support can also include assisting in making phone calls, and signposting for further support.
Hand in Hand Islington is a Volunteer Peer Buddy scheme that recruits, trains and supports volunteers with lived experience of mental ill-health to accompany residents with mental health problems to other locations in the borough for appointments, courses and training, services, green spaces, activities and events.
The project is a collaboration of Islington Mind, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and the SidebySide Network.
