YouScreen – Cervical Screening Made Easier

A new study called YouScreen is launching to help improve cervical screening. YouScreen, led by the Cancer Prevention Trials Unit at King’s College London and the North Central London and North East London Cancer Alliances, gives women and people with a cervix in Islington who are at least 6 months overdue their cervical screening (smear test) the opportunity to take a self-sample for HPV at a time and place that is convenient for them. It is an easy and reliable alternative to booking a cervical screening appointment with the nurse or GP.

If you know someone who is overdue their cervical screening, encourage them to complete and return their kit if they receive one. You can find more information about this study and the self-sample kit for cervical screening at www.smallc.org.uk/youscreen

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust also offers a helpline that provides trustworthy and reliable information, support, and signposting to anyone affected by cervical cancer, cell changes(abnormalities), HPV or prevention concerns. You can contact their helpline on 0808 801 0408.
